New Year's Eve

To help start off your New Year right, we begin with predictions for 2015! What do our baked, confectionery fortune read?!? Tune in and find out!

We are also plagued by the age-old question, do bees have noses?

We have taken on the Indianapolis State Museum. They have decided to run an Indiana cocktail contest… but, you must use a Kentucky Bourbon as the base. This shall not stand ISM! No matter how tremendous your Prohibition Exhibit is! (But really though, fantastic exhibit, you should all check that out). thespeakpodcast has developed two of our own entries using pretty exclusively Indiana spirits. And, as always, we bring you an Indiana beer –

It Was A Dark And Stormy Stout by Books and Brews based out of Indianapolis, IN.

We first try our hand at an Indiana based Rock and Rye. The foundation is a rye whiskey drink made by Temptation. While they bottle in Kentucky, the spirit is brewed in Indiana.  This is a smooth, relaxing beverage, best enjoyed after working long days in the rye field.

Our second, mostly successful attempt at a cocktail is an Indiana based Manhattan. This again features Temptation, but we use their straight Bourbon whiskey. Glory-is-ness abounds in Adam’s “choose your fate” explanation of the backstory of this concoction.

And, should you wish to sync this episode with your New Year’s Eve celebration, we do end our podcast with a 10 second count down to the ball drop.
