Looking for exciting new beer to sample this weekend? Make sure you hit up Black Acre on Saturday (5/4/19) and Four Day Ray Sunday (5/5/19) to snag one of the most unique and highly rated gose beers our group has ever sampled, Pina Fantasma.  If you're not really sure what a gose is, give this episode a listen. During our on-site recording at Four Day Ray Brewing this time around, we were joined by Hutch of The Pint Cycle and Brian Graham. We were able to have some truly insightful and down to Earth discussion about not only beer styles, but the state of craft beer.  Be warned - Pete got too lazy to edit this one. Some adult language and humor has made it in to this weeks episode.

BES: Blondes

Looking to supplement the fun you're having at Death and Taxes Day ? Tune in and listen to our second installment of our Beer Education Series. As Spring is here (technically) our style of choice is the easy and approachable Blonde. We'll let Brian and Brooke of Four Day Ray give us the BJCP style explanation and walk us through their Blood Orange Blonde on tap now. They then give us a sneak preview of their blueberry blonde at the end of the episode which will be released the first week of May. Or, if you listen close, we do let you know a few locations where it is on tap. Pete tried his darn-dest to locate some blondes to compare and contrast some beers of the same style. as you might expect, he failed. However the beers he did acquire generated some great conversation. The line-up for this episode included: Prairie Artisan Ales Prairie Gold, Evil Twin Classique Imperial, and Jolly Pumpkin Oro De Calabaza. If you like our Beer Education Series leave a comment,...

BES: Irish Beer with Four Day Ray and The Pint Cycle

Image
We sat down with some friends from Four Day Ray and The Pint Cycle at FDR Brewery in Fishers. We in the tap room on kegging day (if you're wondering what those noises are), and we gained some additional education and insight in to traditional Irish beer styles just in time for St. Patrick's day! This is the first episode in our new Beer Education Series. Come learn with us! We cycle through a few beers in this episode. The first two are red ales: FDR's Kingstown Irish Red followed by Boulevard's Irish Red. The Four Day Ray beer is a little closer to the style with some added rye, and the Boulevard is a unique take on an Irish Red. We then try Guinness's relatively new, Rye Pale Ale and wrap things up with a Mofo Risin' Stout . We learn about some of the history of Irish style beer, what SRM's are, the best beer to sneak in to the new #BlackPanther movie, and that Hutch calls those who ride The Pint Cycle "passengers." Be sure to st...

Shorty "Live from Brixx"

We bribed yet another guest to meet with us out in public. We have Hutch from The Pint Cycle  who donated precious minutes of his life that he's desperately wishes he could get back. We talk Indiana beer and wine, Adam's mom's, and Adam again discusses the ocean. In the vein of repetition, we do once again mention Scarlet Lane . Pete admits their beer he has had recently seems to have greatly improved (to his mind) and he ups his prior rating to a double solid! There is also a mention of Three Floyds and Munster, Indiana. Hutch also requested a special shout-out to The Pint Cycle's pit crew, LoKe Bicycles . The keep his cycle in tip-top shape for touring around Fishers and qualifying for the Olympics. We're looking to recruit a crew to help us pedal The Pint Cycle down the streets of Fishers to be looked upon in envy by those passing by.
