Not Enough Dew

Curious about that title? Adam said it. We talked about stouts. Does that add to the curiosity? Tune in to this week's fun filled episode that SHOULD have NOT had anything to do with Mountain Dew. We rap about Bare Hands Brewing Oat Stout and Modern Times Black House Coffee Roasty Stout.

Stouts, Cardi B, and Discounted Merch

If you think you're the only one that doesn't understand that title, you're not. While the weather is finally getting warmer, that doesn't mean that stouts aren't still in season. We've got Night Goat Coffee Stout from  The Devil's Trumpet . We follow that one up with a Belgian Chocolate Toffee Vanilla Stout from Octopi Brewing . Then, for good measure we mix the two. The result was tremendous. Spattered in there, Adam does his best Cardi B impression, we shout out Ant , and due to the ridiculous nature of this entire episode we have decided to offer a discount on our merch ! thespeakpodcast.threadless.com

Stoutstravaganza

Oh crap, we’re a week late posting this episode. To make it up to you though, we’re going three stouts deep in this episode. Also, we bring back sports questions for Adam. To kick things off we sample Franken gloop from Books &Brews . It’s a triple chocolate stout, aged in a rye wheat whiskey barrel. It’s part of their Monster Reserve Series. Keeping it local, we then move to Deer Creek Brewery 's Black Mystic Java Stout. Editor’s note: This was last year’s Black Mystic. The year’s release is more “robust.” And to wind things down a bit, we venture out of state to discuss, Prairie Artisan Ales : No Chill Coffee Milk Stout. Oh, and if anyone knows and Army recruiter, Adam is “on tape” indicating he wants to enlist. Send us an email! * Photo Credit: Alyssa B (abatula on untappd)

White Stouts

Image
Look what's in your Easter basket... No, really, go look. That's right, a new episode of our favorite podcast! No, not the Last Podcast on The Left - thespeakpodcast! Come enjoy some jelly beans and peeps and listen to us discuss stouts as white as the Easter Bunny himself! Even though white stouts are not currently recognized by the BJCP we'll still drink 'em! We've got back to back Indiana beers. Starting with Ivory Stout from Brew Link Brewery and finishing up with Evil Czech 's Bigsby. Sprinkled throughout we have sound effects from Adam and Rob, discussion of time travel and ball pits and Adam re-enacts would it would be like if Oscar the Grouch were to speak like Batman and lure children in to his trashcan.

Shorty: Upland Brewing

Image
Hey Boos! Winter got you down? Why not relax with another Shorty from thespeakpodcast?  We braved the weather and ventured out to  Upland Brewing 's taproom in Carmel. While there we warmed up with their seasonal release, Latitude Adjustment. This beer proves not all winter seasonals have to be spiced or malty. We round out the evening with one of staples when we visit Upland, Teddy Bear Kisses. We offer a full and comprehensive review on this  episode .

Stouts, BOMB! and sound effects

Image
Happy Saturday everyone! On this day, of all days, we're featuring Stouts! Pete has selected beers from 18th Street and Prairie Artisan Ales. Two stouts with similar ingredients, but both with their own, bold flavors. From 18th Street we feature their Hunter Milk Stout and from Prairie Artisan Ales, their BOMB! Adam follows that up with a lively discussion about crabs. Crabs of the water, and crabs of the sea. If you're a swimmer this is information you can't afford to miss. Also, this is the last time we'll be able to make fun of (some of) Adam's adult deficiencies. Since this episode Adam has moved out of his girlfriend's parent's house and has purchased a new(er) vehicle. We're all proud... and we are taking bets on both when he will be evicted and when we think (if ever) Adam will change the oil in his new(er) vehicle.

A Brief History of Imperial Stouts

Image
Since we're all trapped by this Gee Dee Icepocalypse in Indiana, we thought we'd release another episode to help ease the pain of being stuck inside with family members all day until football comes on later tonight. No need to thank us, we're just doing what we can to make the world a better place. The beer style this bi-week is "Russian" Imperial Stouts. There is a startling amount of discussion regarding the history of the style. I know that's odd for us and you, but we thought we'd try something a little different. First up, we have from Shoreline Brewing out of Michigan City Indiana - Worker bee barrel-aged honey imperial stout. Followed then by Stillwater Artisanal Beers out of Maryland - Surround Imperial Oak Smoked Wheat Stout.
