Ghosts Shouldn't Smoke

Image
That's right, a Halloween episode in May. It just so happens that we sampled Adam Has Two Moms from Sun King brewing back in October and that particular American Amber comes out seasonally in the summer. So this all makes sense... Just really going to need for you to go with it. Two American Amber Ales, a Rye IPA, and a whiskey. Enjoy!

Fruit in my Beer!

Image
It’s still warm enough to drink summer beers! At least the cool kids are still drinking summer beers on your favorite podcast. Listen in as we discuss Sun King ’s Orange Vanilla Sunlight Cream Ale and Rhinegeist ’s Zango Fruited Ale. Adam also channels his inner Dexter by discussing cutlery and fish murder. Let us know what some of your favorite summer beers were in the comments. Also, any ideas on what beer we should brew next?

Shorty: Sun King Genevieve

Image
While Indy did not get to experience the, "Best Four Days in Gaming" this year, Sun King did not let us down! We were able to get our hands on the 2020 Gencon offering, Genevieve!  This Belgian-Style Amber Ale packed some great complexities that made it unique, refreshing and enjoyable. Listen in to get our full thoughts and to hear from our always riveting guest, Zellers!

Moonwasted: An Anniversary Celebration!

Image
That's right! We've had the great pleasure of evangelizing Indiana craft beer for six years! To celebrate, we have paired a Shorty episode with a Full-length feature episode! You are correct, that is nearly 90 minutes of podcasting goodness for your earholes. What else were you going to do with that time anyway, watch Up for the hundredth time? Kicking things off with our Shorty episode, we feature Sun King Brewing 's 666: Sympathy for the Devil . It is there barrel-aged Belgian-style black ale and it does not disappoint. Things then get loss coherent when we venture over to sampling whiskey and moonshine. Thanks for hanging with us for six years! Cheers!

Cheers to 10 Years: A Comprehensive Review

Image
If we're being honest, "Comprehensive" is a bit of a stretch. We can promise we have delivered on a solidly mediocre, but approachable "Joe Six Pack" kind of review. We ran out and purchased the 10-4 Good Buddy collaboration 4 pack. Sun King teamed up with 3 Floyds , Rhinegeist , Austin Beer Works , and Cigar City Brewing . It's been about the best $18.99 we've spent on beer in a long time. Why not grab your own 4-pack and drink along with us?

The Beeriest Ballet

Image
Culture abounds in this our most sophisticated of episodes. We sat down with Stirling and Audrey of the Ballet Theatre of Indiana . They are partnering with Sun King to bring Beer and Ballet back to the Basile Theatre at the Historic Athenaeum . We talk Sun King Beer , learn new and pretentious sounding French ballet terms and manage to negotiate a spot for Adam in the stage performance. Be sure to check out Beer and Ballet IV to enjoy beer, ballet, pop music, aerial performances, and the chance that Adam may be wearing a dress and performing pull-ups for all to see. Seriously, all of this is a bargain at a mere $25 a ticket. Purchase tickets here ! The shows will be on February 16th and 17th (again) at the Basile Theatre at the Historic Athenauem at 7:30pm.

Collab Trifecta

Image
Collaborations o'plenty this episode. We grabbed all of the bottles we could here locally to bring you a collab trifecta. We've got beers from all over the state... or mostly, from the North of the state. To open our show we talk about, Double O Session IPA from Sun King Brewery out of Indianapolis and Revolution Brewing out of Chicago. Session IPA is a very apt description and each brewery was able to maintain their identity in this beer while the marriage of the two brought out a very distinct taste. That beer is promptly and professionally followed by a joint effort from Deviate Brewing and Black Acre Brewing both out of Indiana. This Quadruple IPA is named, Hop Lunacy and for very good reason. This one is a "right of passage" type IPA and probably tastes like nothing you've had before. This episode is finished off with a collaboration between 3 Floyds Brewing and Dark Matter Coffee out of Chicago. The Mastodon Crack The Skye is a very good b...

Cream Ale Fueled Shenanigans

Image
It's nearly summer! That means chores, and more specifically grass mowing related chores. In that spirit, we feature two Cream Ales. Often light, crisp, and refreshing. We start things off with Sun King's Sunlight Cream Ale. An Indiana warm weather staple... And then I must digress. We let Adam buy the beer and he was given the assignment, "cream ale." While he technically followed directions, the second offering this show was/is Coney Island Brewing's Hard Orange Cream Ale. And then copious amounts of stupid happened. Much more than even we are accustomed to. Enjoy.

With Apologies to Carson's

Image
Greetings listeners! We may have hit a new low with this episode. We start things off with Demonik from Carson's Brewing out of Evansville, Indiana. The group believes there was something wrong with the six pack we obtained from our booze shop. However, much like with our Flat 12 beer, we consumed and rated this beverage. Rest assured though, Carson's Brewing will get another sampling and review and they still do stand out as one of the group's favorite Indiana breweries. That being said, the review was not great. We then partake of Shorts Bellaire Brown Ale. Adam's description of the bottle is about what you'd expect from him, as is the review in general. Speaking of Adam, he then discusses dog years, polar bear licensing, and seeks to apply for a job at the Smithsonian. If you want to learn how polar produce Coca-Cola, and how to get a polar bear license from the BMV, be sure to listen to this episode! Also, vote for Justin Jay McIntosh for best ...
