Mosaic Hops: A Dissertation

Image
It's been too long since we've offended the public at large. In an effort to remind you all of the profundity and brilliance of our beer knowledge we have decided to discuss one hop across three styles. Make sure to take detailed notes as this episode will surely help you pass your Cicerone Certification Program. The offerings in this episode all contain mosaic hops.  We start with Small and Soft from  Bare Hands Brewery . This New England Style Pale Ale offers great utility and artwork that left Adam nearly speechless.  Next up was was an American IPA; Pompeii from  Toppling Goliath Brewing Company . Clocking in at 6.3% ABV it's not even close to one of their strongest offerings, but this one stood out with strong pineapple flavors.  To finish out the episode we sampled one of  Destihl Brewery 's Deadhead IPA Series, Touch of Haze. Juicier than the Pompeii it hid the 7.3% ABV quite well. Let us know what you think about mosaic hops and let us know wha...

Hoppy, Juicy, Dank

We consume three IPA's - so we titled the episode three IPA descriptors. Really can't tell you if they're appropriate or not; after the first few minutes of Adam talking about Star Wars my brain just went numb. First out of the gates is Triton's The Hempire Strykes Back . It's an approachable Hemp IPA that lead to so much Star Wars discussion. Our second Indy beer is from a brewery we haven't sampled on the show before, Mind Over Mash . We consume their Hop Lord... and then discuss Star Wars. Because, you know, Adam's mental acrobatics. Lastly we review Heretic Brewing Company 's You Can't Handle the Juice! At some point in time the taste of eyeballs was mentioned. Don't let that dissuade you however, it was actually pretty well reviewed.

Coupla IPA's

So uh, it's been about a month. We know that you've missed us and we promise to try and stick to our regular upload schedule. Things have been rough with Steve abandoning the show and HIS CREDIT HOURS! That being said, thank you to our sponsor Books and Brews for seeing us through these trying times and allowing us some Nanceferatu to consume and review. This then (naturally) leads us to a geography discussion because we then review Truth from Rhinegeist and Adam and Rob can't let a simple mistake die! We hope you enjoy! Also - Jet's go ahead and DM us for our mailing address for the sponsorship payment.

Tres IPA's

A salute to our hophead listeners out there! We're going three deep again, but this time they're all IPA's! We hit up Centerpoint Brewing to grab some of their Blood Orange Session IPA. The citrus notes really shine in this one and it is truly a sessionable beverage. We venture out of town and sample an offering from Platform Beer Co. out of Ohio. Citra from The Project Series. We wind things down with an interesting option from Taxman Brewing out of Bargersville. We gave their Bourbon Barrel Hop Collector a shot. Shenanigans of note: Adam has abandoned joining the Marines and will "settle" for the Navy, we might have accidentally invented a racial slur, we learn the "P" in IPA does NOT stand for "placenta."

4 Beers 4 America

Image
Three cheers for four beers and a Happy Fourth of July to all! Keeping with the tradition of expressing our unwavering patriotism we bring you another super special edition episode sponsored by our friends at Books and Brews! We go back-to-back with two very different IPA's from Scarlet Lane Brewing . First their Vivian Red IPA and then a less traditional Bourbon Barrel Aged Braggot style IPA, Eirik Bloodaxe. To finish up we bring in two offerings from Upland Brewing . We start a little safe with their Dragonfly IPA and then knock it up a notch with Darken, a sour ale. Before you go and blow off your fingers with fireworks, make sure you click that download button!

Collab Trifecta

Image
Collaborations o'plenty this episode. We grabbed all of the bottles we could here locally to bring you a collab trifecta. We've got beers from all over the state... or mostly, from the North of the state. To open our show we talk about, Double O Session IPA from Sun King Brewery out of Indianapolis and Revolution Brewing out of Chicago. Session IPA is a very apt description and each brewery was able to maintain their identity in this beer while the marriage of the two brought out a very distinct taste. That beer is promptly and professionally followed by a joint effort from Deviate Brewing and Black Acre Brewing both out of Indiana. This Quadruple IPA is named, Hop Lunacy and for very good reason. This one is a "right of passage" type IPA and probably tastes like nothing you've had before. This episode is finished off with a collaboration between 3 Floyds Brewing and Dark Matter Coffee out of Chicago. The Mastodon Crack The Skye is a very good b...

Happy Super-Awesome America Fourth of July Day

Image
Happy Super-Awesome America Fourth of July Day We begin by thanking our (now official) sponsor, Deviate Brewing. And an extra special thanks to Zane Lamprey of Three Sheets, Chug, Drinking Made Easy, and Monkey Rum for the endorsement at the beginning. Feels good to literally not be the worst show in Indy. We stick to our normal Indiana beer and review, Bier Brewing Chinookalicious American Style IPA. Things then start to go off the rails a bit as we delve in to: Old Forge Tennessee Moonshine... 5 jars of it in fact. We then talk about news articles, drinking happens, equipment gets messed up, drinking happens, then an America grand finale you don't want to miss.

Episode 19

Image
"Episode 19" We bring you the beer, the super-secret special (seasonal) beer. It is another from People, Space Cowboy IPA, but as it is seasonal, we felt the need to review immediately. We do find a way to reference Star Wars and Futurama. You know,to satisfy our nerd following. Adam's three words to take away (that you won't find on the beer wheel) Smokey, laser, bubbles. After, we discuss the Space and the cowboys, we seek to expand your mind with news of the beer. The fellas pay homage to a beer company they claim comes from the author's home state of Wisconsin. I swear to God I am not FROM Wisconsin; I just lived there for a few years. And to end the show, Adam hits you with his famous, "Goodnight" several times. You're welcome, dear reader.
